The lots

The canals are the lots' backyard

Every lot backs onto the water, with a deck for late afternoons and the lagoon as a neighbour. Eight blocks designed as waves between canals and lagoons, at the heart of the island.

The streets

At night, the light is the moon's

Underground power lines and 1.10 m bollards with warm, low light. No street poles, so the island's sky stays whole for the stars. Every street is named after a sailing beach.

The arrival

At the gatehouse, everyday life is already sorted

The entrance is low and open, because what matters is the horizon. Right at the arrival you find the holiday-rental reception, a convenience store and a private helipad that turns Fortaleza into a trip of about one hour.

Beach Club

The meeting point faces the sea

A continuous deck between greenery and water, with everything the season calls for. Through the Beach Club, Vila da Ilha opens straight onto the lagoon: you rig, launch and land your kite inside the community.

From January to July the rhythm changes. When the wind season rests, the courts, the swimming lane and the inner lakes take over — you can do a full triathlon without leaving Vila da Ilha.

Ilha do Guajiru

The lagoon the kite world calls The Flatwatersea

Calm sea sheltered by a sandbank in Itarema, on the west coast of Ceará. You can stand almost everywhere: beginners have their own area, experienced riders find open space. This is where kiters from all over the world spend the wind season.

The tuna of the Vila da Ilha brand
The brand

The fish in the logo is a tuna. And it's from here.

Itarema is one of Brazil's main tuna ports. Fishing began here in 2013 and, within a few years, Ceará came to account for more than half of all tuna caught in the country.

The boats leave from Porto dos Barcos, seven kilometres from the centre of Itarema — the same port that supplies Raiz, the Beach Club bistro. The brand design is not decoration: it is the fish that sustains the region's economy.
